Glasgow Takes ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, then Challenges Christiana and Newark
Glasgow High School was the first to take the plunge with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. After completing their challenge, they challenged CHS and NHS staff. Christiana High School met the challenge and raised $500.
Taking Our Streets Back Basketball Tournament Involves Stubbs Elementary School, Wilmington Police, and Team Crossover Elite
Stubbs Elementary School partnered with Wilmington Police and Team Crossove Elite to host the Taking Our Streets Back basketball tournament on August 16, which also served as a kick off of the Lil Dribblers Basketball League.
Christina Transportation Department Receives DNREC Recognition

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control presented the employees of the Christina School District Transportation Department with a recognition on August 19.
Three Newark High School Athletes Compete in Junior League World Series
Three Newark High School students traveled to Michigan to compete in the Junior League World Series in August, playing against teams from Michigan, California, Texas, North Carolina, and the Czech Republic.

Dawn Martinez and Barbara Martin Named Volunteers of the Year for CHS Athletic Department

Christiana parents Dawn Martinez and Barbara Martin have been named the Volunteers of the Year for the 2013-2014 school year by the Christiana Althletic Department. They were surprised with the honor at the Fall Sports Information Night on August 12.
Marshall Elementary Principal Gives Away Free Summer Books in the WOW Bus

In late July, Marshall Elementary School principal Norman Kennedy distributed more than 175 free books to students as a way to encourage reading, meet new students, and visit with current students and their families.
